My first blog post of 2022 is dedicated to you. Yes, you. First things first, ”Happy New Year!”
To make these twelve months work, you must first understand that a new year means a fresh start. Whatever disappointed you last year, its over. Doesn’t matter if it was a regretful decision or a constant frustration. Whoever hurt you last year, let it go. Doesn’t matter if it was a family member or a friend. Learn to forgive and move on because sometimes you may have to love them from a distance. This way you do not cripple your healing or stunt your growth.

Keep believing in that dream you have, holding on to the faith that it will come true. Increase your worth by learning a new skill, taking music lessons or studying a foreign language. Become more conscience of what you allow to enter into your spirit. Being more purposeful of your entertainment choices; the tv shows watched, the music listened to an even the scrolling. Do not continue to accept behaviors in others that make you feel uncomfortable just because social platforms and the media are making them the norm.

Challenge yourself to work harder on yourself than you do on your job. Self-care is self-love and now more than ever is the time to take care of you. Cleanse your mind by being more grateful, positive and loving. Create an exercise plan that includes thirty minutes a day of active movement, even if its a brisk walk. Decide to become a healthier eater, making small changes will have a big impact. Always make water a first choice, after all, it is the most hydrating.

Whatever this year brings, I believe in you. “Because God’s got you, you got this”.

Lisa

Du-Summer Jazz Sessions are at the Roundhouse Plaza which is right across the street from the museum. Entertainers perform every Thursday from 6-8. FREE parking and nice wrapped tables set up for four, first come-first served. However, late comers know to walk in with lawn chairs and the regulars know to bring food.
