7 Years No Itch

Looking back to 2012, I remember an encounter with a handsome police officer that turned into two years of dating. By the time most people figured out that we were an item, we were married. We agreed that it was important for both of our churches and pastors to be involved in our nuptials. We completed six weeks of marriage counseling at Apostolic Church of God on 63rd and Dorchester where Dr. Byron T. Brazier is pastor. We were married at Victorious Living Church of God on 154 and State in South Holland where Dr. David Blair Sr. is pastor.

After the honeymoon ends, you at least need to like the person you married. There will be arguments; you will disagree and you will fight to be right. There will even be days when communication is an exhausting challenge. In other words, marriage is work. A job many of us married folk chose to be committed to for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health to love and cherish till death.

My husband has an impeccable work ethic, is a man of integrity, loves me but loves God more. He is a simple, quiet man with two rules that he lives by; treat people with respect and owe no man. Our marriage works because we choose to live in the moment and NOT the mess.

Du-Summer Jazz Sessions are at the Roundhouse Plaza which is right across the street from the museum. Entertainers perform every Thursday from 6-8. FREE parking and nice wrapped tables set up for four, first come-first served. However, late comers know to walk in with lawn chairs and the regulars know to bring food.
