I Count it All Joy Doing the Things I Love

Life is not promised to any of us and the days are moving pretty fast. I made a decision not to sit around and let life pass me by. With every breath in my body and every fiber of my being, I choose to live life to the FULLEST. A promise I made to myself some time ago.

Started off the year with a childhood favorite; Hansel and Gretel at the Lyric Opera House. The crazy witch thought she could fatten up the kids with sugary treats so that she could cook them and eat them. Only to be tossed into her own oven.

So nice to get away with hubby for the weekend; dine a little, shop a little and then attend the Auto Show!

Rest In Peace Tina, I have always enjoyed your music. What an amazing performance of Tina’s life at the Netherlander Theater.

Daisy’s Po Boy in Hyde Park; good food with a creole vibe and live music.

80 Proof in Chicago; an upscale brunch with three floors of food, live DJ and mimosa kits.

San Antonio; so many goodies. The Riverwalk, Henry’s Puffy Taco, Whisky Cake and Rudy’s BBQ!

Remember to take time for you. Massage for stress relief and facials for a healthy glow.

Chemistry in Hyde Park; a Chicago Cotton Club, great service, drinks, food and live music. A real party.

Eddy V’s Chicago Loop; Impeccable service, premium seafood and drinks and live music.

Taco Maya in River North; special Yelp Event. Invitation only. Very good tacos and live music.

JP Morgan Corporate Challenge; so freaking amazing. Run or walk your choice. Catered food afterwards.

Restaurant Show at McCormick Place. This was year six for me and it keeps getting better.

Sweets and Snacks Expo at McCormick Place; this was my first year. Got in on God’s favor.

Starbucks Reserve on Mag-Mile Chicago; four floors with a full bar and a rooftop. Here for the Green Ball.

Playing with belugas at the Shedd Aquarium. The experience was amazing, the kiss tickled. I was soaked.

Sold out crowd of 27,000! Our seats were on the main floor almost in the back. Didn’t matter, most people were standing the entire time and for good reason. Janet performs! I was singing and dancing and drinking. Ran into a gentleman that rides the train. He was doing security for the show and let me take a few pics up close. Thank you Bestie!

Du-Summer Jazz Sessions are at the Roundhouse Plaza which is right across the street from the museum. Entertainers perform every Thursday from 6-8. FREE parking and nice wrapped tables set up for four, first come-first served. However, late comers know to walk in with lawn chairs and the regulars know to bring food.

Yes! This is my year. There were four belugas in the water and they were good at two things; kissing and splashing. I hope you get to visit those restaurants soon.
