Does He Love Me?
For years I’ve asked myself if I was even worthy, though I believe his actions give me my answer. He listens to me like no one else ever has. He understands my pain so much that when I hurt, he feels it too. He doesn’t make promises that he can’t keep because he is not a liar. He takes such good care of me and gets jealous when I put others before him. He knows everything about me and still he cares. He is faithful and trusting. He even laid down his life for me. Yes, he loves me.
There have been times when we have questioned the loyalty and love of others because of something they may have done or didn’t do for us or to us. Something they may have said to us that didn’t line up with their actions. Love with man is generally conditional; if you do this for me, I will do that for you. But with God, he LOVES us in spite of ourselves.
“Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, doesn’t have a swelled head, doesn’t force itself on others, isn’t always “me first”, Love doesn’t fly off the handle, Love doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Love doesn’t revel when others grovel.
